I'm a 23 year old baby-loving, student, crafter extraordinaire, international traveler, animal obsessed nanny who is here to help you! While I was finishing my Associate's degree, I was a nanny for my sister. I babysat my nephew for five hours a day, from the time he was 6 weeks old until he was 18 months old (Feb 2011-August 2012). I truly loved bonding with him and helping him grow into a little man. He is now a happy, healthy, smart five year old (did I just say FIVE?! Time flies!) I like to think that I helped a little with his awesome personality by reading my Anatomy & Physiology book to him at nap time every day. Now when I see him we're working on learning basic Spanish phrases and numbers! I love to watch him learn. After traveling around Texas and then Asia and Central America, I'm finally Read more back in MS to finish my BA in Spanish. Thus, I'm looking for a new baby/child to adore and help love while his/her parents are at work. I know how challenging a work/life balance can be with kids; let me help take some of the work load off you! My work experience is varied, from being a volunteer Administrative Manager at a small animal shelter in Del Rio, TX, to teaching English in public schools in Nicaragua. Throughout my many positions, I've been able to learn multitasking, thinking on my feet, and conflict resolution in this position, all of which will transfer nicely into the field of childcare. One job that I would like to spotlight, however, occurred in 2013: I was a volunteer at the largest children's hospital in south Texas, Driscoll Children's Hospital. I was an Administrative Assistant for the Occupational Health, Orthopedics and Neurology departments, Art Cart member, as well as the youngest person to be elected to the Auxiliary Board of Directors. These positions each came with unique responsibilities, but all involved working with children. I learned how to engage children in art activities while they were hospitalized, and how to occupy bored children before their doctor's appointments. I truly enjoyed working with the many children I met during my time at Driscoll. I can provide conversational Spanish interaction (letters, numbers, objects, days, months, phrases, simple sentences), exceptional English interaction and age appropriate developmental play and instruction. I'm interested in working with all types of families, as I pride myself on equality and open-mindedness. I'm excited to meet your family to see if we "click"!
