I am 59 years young and married. My husband and I  have 2 sons. One is a senior in college and the other graduated last year, both at the University of Colorado in Boulder. I retired from teaching kindergarten with Northwest ISD in June, 2008, with 28 years of teaching experience. We have two retrievers and three cats. I have lived in Keller since 1982. I have a B.S. from Baylor University and 30 hours post graduate in early childhood education. I have always loved working with and caring for children. Providing excellent care to my families brings more joy and purpose to my life. I love being an additional, positive and caring person in the families I work with. I started out caring for children at my grandmother's daycare when I was a young person. During high school and college, I babysat for friends and church members. I was also a summer Read more camp counselor. I went on to get my degree in teaching and spent my adult career as a teacher, mentor, nurturer and everything else that goes with being a dedicated, caring teacher. My favorite thing to do with children is to read stories. I enjoy particpating in dramatic play with children. I like to bring along fun, creative and engaging activities. Some examples are arts and crafts, science and math activities, reading activities and cooking activities. I am an avid reader, love gardening and spending time with my family and friends. I also love to cook and bake. I also provide pet sitting services to the families I serve. Providing child care and pet sitting services has become a perfectly natural path for me in my post teaching career. I am educated, experienced, passionate and responsible about the level of care I provide.  I also have a lot of experience providing transportation for children, teens and elderly to and from school, after school activities, and doctor or dental appointments.  The relationships developed with the teen girls I have provided this service for have been rewarding and fun. I get a lot of satisfaction from helping out the busy families I have served in this important way. My husband and I raised our two sons while I was teaching and he worked full time. So we know how challenging it can be to juggle family life, home responsibilities and everyone's various activities.
