Hello, my name is Gabriela and my husband and I just recently moved to the Round Rock Texas area from Nevada. My husband worked as a police officer in Las Vegas for 6 years, but after our son was born we decided to move to the Austin area to raise our family in a better environment. My husband is now a police officer with the Austin police department, while I am a stay-at-home mom for our 2 year old son, named Joey. I am originally from Nicaragua and have a lot of experience taking care of young children. While growing up in my country, I was responsible for taking care of my nieces and nephews. For approximately five years, I helped raise several of my nieces and nephews ranging in ages from 6 months old to 5 years old. I would typically take care of them from the early morning Read more to the late evening hours, five to six days out of the week. My responsibilities included feeding, playing, teaching, and bathing them. I would also change diapers and give them naps when needed. I developed a loving fondness for children while taking care of them. Now that I have my own son, it has been a wonderful blessing and I have learned even more about social needs and learning behaviors of young children. It often makes me sad to see my son playing without a playmate. Due to the fact that I have to take care my own son, I would prefer working out of my house, where there is a large safe playroom/nursery with plenty of toys and a large secured backyard for the children to play. I would also prefer not taking care of more than 3 children at a time, so that I can give them the individual attention that children so desperately need. And finally, I would prefer taking care of children younger than 10 years of age, with infants and toddlers being the most desirable.
