Hi - My name is Roxana. I am from Romania and have been living in the in the United States for 9 years. I am married and have a son in kindergarten at Kimberlin Academy in the gifted and talented class. I have worked with children since I was 21 years old. I love children and want to be a part of helping prepare them for a meaningful life experience. I love to make kids happy and to create an environment where they feel safe being themselves. I worked for three different orphanages in Romania; City of Hope, Benjamin Foundation, and A Better Future, where I coordinated the girls house. My responsibilities included all aspects of care giving, menu planning, purchasing the food, overseeing their homework, and 1st Aid care. I would find the children on the streets, love them, clean and wash them, de-lice them, get medical care for Read more them when needed, and helped them get integrated back into the school system and society. I have seen some of the worst street children transformed by love and proper care into contributing members of society. I am still in touch with some of the kids I worked with who have grown up and are now married with families of their own. These are people who were lost kids on the street with no hope and are now actively participating in the joys of life. Here in America I have had the opportunity to work as nanny for well provided for twins and in a daycare taking care of the infants of loving parents. This is very much different from taking care of the street children of Romania, except for one thing; love. The same love that conquered the hopelessness in Romania keeps the children on the right track in America.
