I have 5+ years of experience teaching and working with children. I taught at The Freedom School, a local summer school in Louisville, Kentucky. Some of my duties included teaching pre-planned curriculum, distributing food, keeping classrooms clean and sterile, and ensuring children's safety during all of our activities. I was under the watchful training of Mrs . Carmen Washington, and her father Mr. Weathers, both of whom are retired school board members. The classes that I taught were math, science, english, writing, reading and comprehension, and history My focus has been with children in pre k to 2nd grade. In my last two years working at the institution, I was given the chance to teach a class of my own design to a group of 6th and 7th graders . With these classes, I focused on art and history.While at the Freedom School, I also came up with many ideas Read more and activities for the children, with a focus on health and fitness. Some of these included field trips to parks and walking trails, inventing fun outdoor and indoor games incorporating exercise, and encouraging good eating habits. In my personal life, I am a recreational runner who has been vegetarian, vegan, and raw vegan. I have been working on a collection of simple, cheap and delicious vegan and healthy recipes with children in mind.
