I have worked with children for over 30 years now. From the age of 16 I babysat, at 18 I got my first daycare job as a floater and worked my way up to lead teach of my own classroom in just a few short years. As a college student I worked as a live-in nanny for 3 years. One of my many duties was to drop off the two little people I cared for at a daycare center where they would play, learn, and socialize. When that family no longer needed me, I applied at the same daycare center and had worked there for 22 years. By then I was married and had children so i decided to take summers off to be a nanny for different families (as a nanny I was able to have my own children with me through the summer and provided playmates for the Read more children I cared for). The more the merrier! I love children. I have experience with all ages. From 2 days old all the way up to 95 years old (I cared for my sick grandparents for a few years). I'm a good Mom, to 3 wonderful and lively children. (Two are grown now and the youngest is only 9) I think that makes me a great caregiver because I treat all the children I work with as if they were my very own. I'm also a fun, artistic, loving, nurturing, and creative teacher! I enjoy watching a child's thought process unfold in front of me and guiding them to make the right choices, while keeping in mind how different each child is. Children must be taught new things daily with consistency, caring, and compassion. They pick up on everything...you are teaching even when you don't mean to be. Daily they decide what to carry with them and what to discard. Everyone they come in contact with leaves something with them so we must be mindful of who we are and who we want our children to be later in life.
