I love working with children of all ages, and I have come to believe that a learn-by-experiencing approach is the most effective way for a young person to develop awe and curiosity which will create in him the desire to be a life-long learner. I worked for one summer as a full-time nanny for 3 children (ages 5, 8, and 11) while studying Child, Family, and Community Development at Covenant College. I have also worked as a babysitter for as long as I can remember. I graduated from college in 2009, worked for 1 year as an intern on a demonstration farm in South Florida, and I have spent the 3 last years living in Senegal West Africa where I have been working as an Agricultural Extension Agent with Peace Corps. I love to encourage children to learn by engaging them in interactive activities (especially outdoors), to be their own Read more problem solvers, and to explore the depths of their creative capacities! I love music! I sing, play a little piano, and play guitar. I have given guitar lessons to children before. I speak French and Wolof fluently, and I currently tutor French and have taught English as a second language before. I also enjoy cooking and gardening!
