Within the past two year I have realized that wherever I may end up in life, I want it to be with kids. Around my middle school years when I entered the 7th grade I got my first baby sitting job. Yes, I was stressed and was confused with many things questioning what if this happens, what if that happens. But as the year went on I learned a lot about myself, and how to take true care of a child. Growing older I then understood the importance of giving a child the care and love as a parent would with their own. When I moved to Kansas for college, my second year I was offered a job as a Para educator position at an elementary school for 2-3 grade, and what my students taught me that year, was that all they want, all they need is someone who is Read more willing to love every ounce of them during their best of times, and during their not so best of times. Whether I am a nanny, overnight sitter, everyday caregiver, or a backup babysitter, giving your kid(s) the love and care that they deserve and giving them the best of myself is the top priority on my list.                           I find it to be important to not just be a caregiver, but to be someone your child can count on and look up to for guidance; showing what is right and what is wrong. Although a lot of parents I have met throughout the past two years are usually all work, little play, I find it VERY important to give kids a well-structured yet very fun childhood while I am allowed the time with them. “Work hard, play harder” is something I like to always say. Showing that when they get homework or chores done, they’re going to get rewarded with a great time! Before I left for college I was a daily babysitter for a family and they had 2 boys ages 6 and 8; I always promised them that if their behavior was GREAT all week, (no back talking, bad behavior, etc...)  Then when I return that following week, we would do an experiment, which consisted of me picking out 3 fun activities from Pintrest and allowing them to pick. They really seemed to have enjoyed those times as did I.                            Although being indoors in fun and all, I am a little more active and can’t stand sitting on the couch for very long. Outdoor activities are a must in my book, whether it be walking, riding bikes, going to the park, or just playing in the sprinklers; I like to be able to get the kids out of the house and playing. I really enjoy doing arts and crafts, playing games and baking; it’s always a huge plus with me if the family enjoys it and doesn’t mind if I do some. Keeping things clean and tidy is something I always keep up with along with being organized. Having trust and honesty between the parents and I is a major deal for me. Communication is key!
