I peer tutored for the Functional Skill Unit for Students with Disabilities every year from Junior High to High School and after High School I volunteered as a peer tutor in the Stride Classroom at the Vista Center School for Students with Disabilities. I visited a 9 year girl with Aspergers Syndrome who was suicidal and helped her by spending time with her and teaching her how to stay strong despite being bullied. She no longer is suicidal and she is doing much better and is happier now. I also babysat a girl with developmental disorder for 3 summers in a row while her school was out of session. I prepared her lunch helped her with puzzles supervised her while she watched TV and colored. I was a nanny for a 4 year old girl one summer I prepared her lunch and supervised her with her daily activities while her Read more parents were at work. I have spoke at the Disability Law Center Spring Conference as a Key Note Speaker about Overcoming Obstacles to Reach Success, Staying Strong despite struggles and bullying. I received an award from the DLC Stop Bullying Now: Student Advocacy of the Year Award. I love helping others the feeling of putting a smile on their faces is very rewarding.
