My name is Emily - I am 24 years old and seeking to shift the direction of my career. For two years I have worked for a health care policy organization in Washington, D.C., but am now exploring opportunities as a freelance communications strategist and looking to continuing my education in the design field. As a child, I had two of the world's best babysitters. As I got older and began to take on my own babysitting jobs, I found I knew just what it took to be a kind and spirited sitter. Throughout high school and college I frequently babysat for family, family friends, and neighbors. Parents have always said I am reliable, patient, considerate, and friendly. Kids have always been excited for their parent's next night out. In addition to babysitting, I have worked with children in various leadership programs. While in high school, I spent 3 months Read more as a camp counselor in Switzerland for girls ages 9-12. I helped organize and execute formation activities, took groups on day trips around Geneva, and built meaningful friendships with the girls to encourage virtue and personal development. Throughout high school I also helped to lead a Catholic girls club that met weekly for bible studies, formation activities, and organized monthly charity events. Since graduating from college and beginning a full-time job, I have had little availability to babysit. I look forward to working as a nanny for many reasons: children are a joy to be with and I believe in encouraging healthy, family life. I also think the hours for child care can be flexible and would allow me more time for personal creative projects.
