Hello! My name is Katie and I am a 29-year-old graduate student in Education (I plan to teach Social Studies when I am finished with my masters) who lives in Old Town Alexandria. I have always loved working with children and youth and am excited to begin my career as a teacher soon! I worked for several summers as a classroom assistant at a day care for children ages 2-6 years old. During college I volunteered with a number of mentoring organizations such as Big Brothers Big Sisters. I spent six months living at home with parents and my five year old nephew (who has been diagnosed with Autism) helping to care for him. I also have a lot of experience as a babysitter and nanny. I am very comfortable and have experience with children of all ages including infants. My family and friends would describe me as a very kind, caring, Read more patient, and responsible individual. I am available everyday during the week after 1pm and can stay through the evenings. I am generally around and free all weekend as well. I am a native English speaker with intermediate proficiency in French. I am also very comfortable with pets! My family owns two wonderful Newfoundland dogs and a cat.
