I began my career in the public schools of NC as a teacher in grades Kindergarten, second and third. From there, I worked with at-risk children in grades K-5 in Title 1 reading. I then ventured into a daycare setting, where I worked mainly with school-aged children, occasionally working with other age groups, including infants, toddlers, and preschoolers. After having my daughter, I began my role as Assistant Director in a child care center caring for children ages 6wks-12yrs, mentoring and managing staff, and maintaining state regulations necessary for licensure.
