Who is Shirley S.? Firstly, I am a proud loving mother of 3 wonderful children who I adore. I have provided over 30 years of welcomed childcare to many children. I assisted my mom with 3 younger siblings 10 and 12 years my junior that sparked my interest for childcare. I held my first babysitting job at the young age of 12, and the care of children ever since then has been my passion; a natural born gift. I care for children between the ages of infancy thru young adults. I graduated Magnum cum laude with a major in Early Childhood Development on May 13, 2012. I am presently employed by a prominent retirement community and memory care center. As far as my character goes I would say that I am a natural born nurturer and humanitarian. I also possess an appreciation for a wide array of music that lends to ease your woes soothe and supplement your soul. When it comes to the caring of children, I love them as they are my own. I believe in taking care of the whole child, from their physical to their mental and all areas in between. I cater to engaging children in activities/experiences that boost their critical thinking skills in a way that their knowledge is sparked/interest peeked. Every moment a child is in my care becomes the teachable moment to learn and grow. I have known Shirley for 3 years now, me & my wife found her on Sittercity & hired her after interviewing her (along with few others). The primary reason for selecting her was the positivity & enthusiasm she showed towards my daughter during the interview. Today i am very pleased to write this review for her, she was my daughters Nanny for approximately 2 years, and has continued to keep in touch. My daughter is always absolutely overjoyed on seeing Shirley even today (about a year now, since my daughter transitioned to the local pre-school. I had consistently been impressed with Shirley's attitude and work ethic during the time that she worked at my house. Shirley is both creative and quite motivated, she took care of my daughter from when she was 10 months old to the age of 2 and half years. The best reflection of her work was when my daughter so seamlessly joined the school because she was prepared well by Shirley for the same. Shirley is self motivated, she applied herself and sought and met targets for my daughter on her own. I recommend Shirley without reservation, I am confident that she will be well liked.
