I am a reliable and fun professional seeking a part-time summer nanny position! Should we have the opportunity to work together, you will find that I am a combination of extreme patience, unyielding compassion, and constant energy, qualities that serve me well as a caregiver. A little about me: I have more than 15 years of experience working with newborns, infants, toddlers, young children, and pre-teens in diverse home settings. I am also a highly-qualified, award-winning educator with four degrees, 16 years of college-level teaching experience, and a Pennsylvania Teaching Certificate. My Pediatric and Adult CPR/First Aid/AED certification is current. I came to Northern Virginia from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, where I worked as a part-time nanny or babysitter for several families. For three of these families, I cared for the little ones from infancy until the oldest children were 8 years old. Since moving to Virginia, I have cared for siblings, Read more ages 4.5 months and 2.5 years, and I recently worked as a "grandmother's helper" with two school-age boys. I currently occasionally babysit a 7-month-old on the weekends, but I am looking for something a little more consistent for the summer. In late August, I will resume my position as a Lecturer at a local university. My experience as a nanny has invited me to walk with or drive children to summer camps, the pool, parks, libraries, and Music Together classes. I am accustomed to performing light housework duties, preparing meals for children, and engaging in lots of play (baking, crafts, and outdoor adventures!).
