I have always been a teacher and a "kid person." I began teaching martial arts classes when I was 10. By the age of 12 I was helping with the special needs classroom at church. I got undergraduate degrees in psychology and non-teaching education and then got a masters degree in psychology with a concentration in applied behavior analysis (using rewards to teach appropriate behavior and language). I am not happier than when I am with children. I love to read and I especially love to read to children. I also believe in explaining complicated things to kids - just because they may not understand all the properties of magnetism doesn't mean I should not outline the basics of a STEM lesson!
