Hello! I have nannied for multiple families in the past while in college. I loved caring for each child dearly and have enjoyed hearing from their families as they have grown up over the years (yes, one is driving now and another just got her braces off)! I left college and pursued my nonprofit career helping moms and children in need, switched to a "corporate job" and became a certified yoga teacher. Enter Maisey, my sweet daughter who was born this past year. Life began. Stretching maternity leave as as well as our budget I returned to work for a few days and quickly realized that institutionalized day care was not the right fit for us. I have never looked at childcare through the parental lens before; never realized what it was like to be a parent and leave your child in someone else's hands. Wow. This whole experience has Read more taken the concept of nannying to a whole new level for me and I am now looking to find a family with children who need love and care while their doting parents are at work. I come from a place of love. I am patient, kind and a believer in positive reinforcement- I also believe in the importance of rules and am not wishy washy by any means. I love crafting with children, being outdoors and listening to "kid chit chat" in the back seat. My family lives our life in a very healthy way by balancing nutritional, emotional and physical needs. I am responsible and follow directions. After Maisey was born, the pediatrician said to us "this is YOUR child... don't let anyone else tell you how to raise her. You will always have her best interest at heart." So I will always follow the wishes of parents, because you do always have your child's best interest. I'm there now too. I have a wonderful letter of recommendation from the last family that I nannied for a number of years ago. I recently completed a CPR class for infants, children and adults at Southwestern Vermont Medical Center. I have only fine tuned my childcare skills in the recent years since nannying- real life has been a great teacher! If I sound like a good fit for for your family I would love to meet for a chat. It would be an honor to provide the care your family needs and to leave your mind at ease while you are away. As a parent, peace of mind is an invaluable thing!
