Karin’s Bio I have been a nanny in Vermont for three years and have excellent local references. I currently work part-time, after-school, for a wonderful family in Charlotte. I am looking for more part-time/on-call nanny/babysitting jobs. I am completely trustworthy, responsible and attentive to the children in my care and devoted and loyal to the family I care for. For 11 years I was the founder and head teacher of an International English Immersion Toddler/Preschool/Kindergarten in Japan. I also had an elementary after-school ESL program for our kindergarten graduates. In January 2012, my husband passed away and then the earthquake hit Japan, so I closed my school and moved back to the USA with my 19 year old son. My educational philosophy combines Montessori, Waldorf & Reggio Emilia methodology. I have a B. Ed Degree in Special, Elementary and Secondary Education, with a specialty in Creativity Development and Gifted Education. I enjoy providing tender loving care and an individualized, creative education to children of all ages, abilities and temperaments. I believe all children have special needs and gifts that can be nutured and cultivated by conscious and loving care-givers. I love encouraging children grow into their full potential. I am an advocate of positive, non-violent behavior management. I am consistent, calm and patient with children. They learn the boundaries and the natural consequences for over-stepping them.
