Honesty is very important. I do not have recent experience with being a nanny/sitter. I have raised three children who are all successful. I am employed M-F for a family-owned company and would like the opportunity to make a difference and add value to someone's life. There was a time when, as a single parent, I did not have family in the area and found it difficult to work overtime, take evening classes - even have fun with friends. About me: I was born and raised in Washington, D.C., attended college in North Carolina. After living in New York for 3 years I moved to the Eastside of Seattle. It has been a long time since I moved here and I am still here! My husband has been employed by Boeing for just over 30 years and we live in the Woodridge Neighborhood of Bellevue. I love animals (the furry Read more kind). Not too much unravels me, except for people not respecting each other. My loves: I am a foodie and am almost embarrassed to admit that I have a lot of cookbooks (I mean a lot). My favs are those that also tell a story, such as Sylvia's Family Cookbook. I don't have a favorite food but truly enjoy savory dishes; not too fond of sweets. I also enjoy my pets. Two kitties recently adopted me after my cat of 18 years died this summer. I looked outside on my side porch and there they were...the cutest tuxedo kitties you'd ever want to lay eyes one. Needless to say, they now reside inside with my other pets. (I have no grandkids; what can I say?) Goals: After retirement I hope to be able to be that go-to person to allow busy parents to be able to have their careers/vacations and not worry about whether or not their children are being well-cared for. Regarding children: I have a huge place in my heart for children. I see people around me that do not understand how important it is to take the time to connect with them and nurture their strengths and help them understand how truly special they are - even when they sometimes 'don't do it right'. I see some people expecting children to behave as adults when their brains have not even fully developed. That is not me. I would enjoy being offered the opportunity for an interview. Thank you!
