Childcare has always come naturally for me. I love helping to provide good nurturing and proper development for ages 0-12. My eyes and ears are always drawn to resources that may help me improve or be aware of types of child life. From High school to some college, I have sought have education in the development of children. This has given me a strong understanding of their world. I was a in- home nanny for a family in Everett. The mother was single with two children and one on the way. I would wake them up, take them to school, prepare morning, noon, and evening meals, tutor, and provide care until 6pm for the two boys and infant. I was also working part-time with the YMCA, to provide care for a 16 yr. Old boy with Autism. Through the YMCA I am required to take CPR and FIRST AID for children 0-5 and adults. I was also required to take an online Child Abuse class. In college, my favorite classes were Child Development and Adolescents, and Curriculum and Observation. One of the most important things to me regarding children, besides personal time, is being organized. Being organized helps me through the unexpected situations. Having peace through it all is important too. I believe children, especially babies, can sense when you are not at peace or prepared. I think that can make them frustrated and feel unprotected.
