Take caution when interviewing this candidate to take care of your children, as there have been more difficulties than I can count after hiring her to care for our two children, ages 7 & 8.5, in Davis. The first day on the job (a date night stint) she showed up nearly 10 minutes late and we missed our reservation in Sacramento. The second day she worked for us, she again arrived nearly 10 minutes late and I was very close to being late for work in Vacaville (a Saturday drive to Kaiser Vacaville is never easy, which is why I expected her to arrive on time, which didn't happen for the second consecutive day of care). THEN, I receive a text this afternoon that she won't be able to care for our children tomorrow (1:30-7:30 shift while both my husband and I are at work), which means we are now scrambling to find childcare so that each of us can keep our commitments at our respective hospitals. What a nightmare this has been and I should have honestly listened to my gut and noticed the red flags for what they were.

It was clear from our first meeting that Megan was a kind, warmhearted, PATIENT, and loving individual that could also be an authority figure when needed. We had sought out a nanny with special needs experience given our four-year old son's severe ADHD, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, and sensory processing issues. When Megan first started caring for our son, he had just been diagnosed and was having an incredibly hard time functioning in a classroom setting. Megan assisted by keeping him on task and reading his cues to head off blowups. As the school year went on, she helped implement a Behavior Intervention Plan with the teachers. Megan kept our hyperactive son busy each day by finding activities around Davis and Woodland that enriched his life and exposed him to new creative outlets. She earned our trust by communicating her plans and providing daily feedback (her own and from the teachers). During the week, she took our son to his appointments and scheduled activities. At first it was difficult for us to include a third authority figure into our family, but Megan followed all of our instructions on how to manage our son's behavior. Her willingness to apply our rules in a similar fashion helped since he needed consistency with boundaries. Also, one month after hiring Megan, we had twins which complicated our care. Megan took on part-time infant care/mother's helper and part-time nanny. She was fantastic at switching between both types of care as needed. We loved our time with Megan and were sad to move on when our needs changed. We were fortunate to have found her when we did because she was exactly what our family needed. Her support for our four-year old son and enabled him to be successful in his preschool and summer programs. It's clear to see the influence she had in developing his communication skills and encouraging his creativity and compassion. Megan has our highest recommendation for her services as our son's nanny from January to August 2017.

Megan has been our nanny for several months; she cares for our two daughters an infant and preschooler. Megan is patient and gentle. She is flexible and works hard to deliver the care and service her family requests. Megan has been responsible for getting our preschooler ready for school and driving her to and from using our vehicle. Planning age appropriate activities, art projects, and outings for educational and entertainment purposes. Megan has also been caring for our infant; assisting with sleep training, feeding, and keeping a schedule. She has also helped out with household chores like laundry, vacuuming, picking up, etc... Megan partners well with our family on household rules; she supports and reinforces our family values and approach to discipline. Megan works best when she is given clear expectations and instructions. We have really valued our time with Megan and our daughters have thrived. We would highly recommend her.

Megan was a great carer and friend for my son. She kept him engaged and happy and was also very helpful around the house I would definately use her again in the future and recommend her without hesitation.
