I am currently taking classes with the ultimate goal of becoming a high school science teacher, and working full time as a preschool teacher. I love working with kids, and have extensive experience. I have worked as a camp counselor, tutor, babysitter (even a foster family with 6-9 children at a time!), and worked as support staff for children with disabilities, including at the state level psychiatric care facility in Oregon. My approach to children is that I am there to support, mentor, nurture, and have fun with them, within firmly drawn boundaries that establish safe spaces to explore and create. Science and arts and crafts are two of my favorite things. I also love to teach horseback riding, archery, theater, creative writing, wilderness survival skills, games, and much much more. Certifications include: CPR, First Aid, and AED for infant, child, and adult, as well as being a Certified Interpretive Read more Guide (think museum staff who give lectures and present educational content) and a Qualified Mental Health Associate (QMHA). I also hope to have my lifeguarding certification again soon!
