Taking care of children is my calling in life. I love to work with them and watch them grow and learn. To me, there is nothing more important than teaching the children to be all that they can be. We start with the little things that are learned through play and build on those. I graduated from North Seattle College with an AAS degree in Early Childhood Education in June 2015. I am a member of Phi Theta Kappa honor society. I have a current infant CPR certification, clean driving record and insured vehicle. My first Nanny position was working for my daughter through DSHS to take care of my grandchildren as an in-home childcare provider. DSHS is strict about documentation, care provided, and STARS training. I continued to work for my daughter after DSHS was no longer involved, for a total of nine years, provided meals, homework help, pick Read more up and drop off, arts and crafts, outings to the park and zoo, etc., and whatever was needed at the time. My next position was with the Shelby family. I was with them for nine months full time and three months part time after their son went into preschool. Expectations with them include taking their child to park or just a walk around the neighborhood when weather allows, playing educational games, puzzles, art, stickers, etc., letting him help with chores like vacuuming, bed making, emptying the dishwasher and putting away dishes. Reading and singing to him, playing musical instruments and playing with trucks. He (at 2 1/2) has memorized several books and songs and can 'read' them to us! I worked for the Petersen's next, caring for their four month old until he went into daycare. I worked closely with his mother (who worked from home) to establish a nap and feeding schedule for sleep training. We used a documenting app to keep track of feedings, diapers, outings, etc, throughout the day. Housekeeping and bottle sterilization, etc. were part of my duties as well as playing and caring for baby. The most recent family were the Gibbens. Their son was also four months when I began. "Mom's" work situation changed and she gets to stay at home with him now. Our schedule was a long walk in the morning with a stop at a cafe to play in the play area or at the park depending on the weather, playing at home, reading, singing, naps, and of course snacks, bottles, and more play! Light house keeping, of course, I always need to be busy, the TV is never on when I am in the house. Thank you for considering me!
