While I was living in Los Angeles I was a volunteer camp counselor at the Culver-Palms YMCA and Camp Bloomfield for the Blind (part of the Junior Blind of America). I have a Master's degree in Library and Information Science and upon graduation worked as a Children's Librarian at the Perkins School for the Blind. I then moved to a small village in Guatemala to develop Children's literacy programming for a rural library. I moved to Seattle after I completed my project in Guatemala, working for a library software company. I missed working with kids, so I found Girls on the Run (http://girlsrun.org), and have volunteered my time as a coach and a running buddy.
