I have more than six years of professional childcare experience as a babysitter, camp counselor, tutor, and lifeguard. I've babysat infants to 4-year-olds (and I have a recent Newborn and Infant Care Specialist Certificate) and have also supervised and nurtured 9-year-olds all the way through high school in a camp setting. I have a Bachelor's degree in biology and have taken accredited courses in topics including positive parenting, child psychology and development, nutrition and obesity prevention, and managing child safety. More personally, I would like to be a nanny for the opportunity to really get to be with the same kids and watch them grow up. I'm patient, empathetic, caring and passionate as a teacher and caregiver. I think I could really bring something valuable to kids in a nanny position. My go-to activities are creative and low-tech: I like getting my kids outside to make stick forts or learn Read more how to identify poison ivy or just go for a walk. I like teaching basic cooking, friendship bracelets, or even haikus or creative writing. I also love supervising unstructured play or art time, inside and out. I want to be in a number of roles in your household: customized and reliable childcare, experienced tutor, especially with math and science, pet care, light cleaning and chef of Italian dinners and homemade pies. I'm ready for any emergency: I have current certifications in Lifeguarding, Infant and Child CPR, and Wilderness First Responder certifications. I’ve not yet been called upon to use any of these skills in a life-threatening situation, but should that day come I am more than prepared. Please feel free to contact me; I'd love to chat. I hope I'm the right fit for your family.
