I moved to Washington State from a small suburb north of Detroit, Michigan to complete my Bachelor of Science degree at Bastyr University’s Herbal Science program. While attending college full time, I taught sports and movement classes to children ages 6 months to 8 years old. This position gave me the delightful challenge of encouraging skill acquisition in the areas of gymnastics, cheer, dance and yoga. I was a facilitator for parents as they actively participated in helping their child develop new skills. Upon graduation, following the advice of my esteemed professors, I was encouraged to further develop my talent to connect with people, especially children. I have an ease with children, and an ability to empower them and to foster educational opportunities. I am inspired by teachers that have a genuine motivation to care and guide students in their growth. I have successfully completed the eCDA program, a national certification program for early childhood educators that has refined my skills as an educator. In addition to my childcare position, I have gained experience with babysitting positions through parent contacts. I have utilized every opportunity to further my professional development and remain current with best teaching practices. I bring positive energy and innovation to the environment.
