Hello! My name is Sophia, and I graduated from the University of Washington last year with a degree in Microbiology and a German minor. Throughout my undergraduate career, I was a live-out nanny for one family with a 5-year-old boy, Felix. I dropped him off at the bus stop and picked him up after school each weekday. In the morning I would get him ready for school, and in the afternoon, I would help him with his homework and cook dinner and snacks. During the day I would attend my classes and do various household chores. I was also available nights and weekends. It was a pleasure watching Felix grow and learn throughout the years, and I am so excited to have played a part in his childhood. More recently, I was a live-in nanny for my 2-year-old cousin, Connor. I would drop him off and pick him up at Read more day care, play with him, and teach him new things when we were at home or at the park. I also have experience as a mentor and teacher to younger students (ages 9-12). I was heavily in coaching Science Olympiad and I was also the director of a science mentorship program specifically for girls as a senior in high school. My interests lie in many areas, as evident with my degree in microbiology and current education in German, but I love childcare, and I would be honored to be involved with your child's life as a nanny or babysitter. I love the outdoors as well - hiking and skiing are some of my favorite activities. I am also an amateur beekeeper and can craft some of the most delicious cheese, beer, and chocolate truffles!
