Hello! I'm a college student attending Western Washington University looking for a summer job. I'm available to work starting June 15th to September 4th. I've began working with children as an office/summer camp assistant at the age of 13. I've worked at WeeWacs daycare center (a Washington State licensed childcare facility) at the Washington Athletic Club every summer since summer 2012. I've worked with children of all ages, ranging from newborn to 13 years old. Duties of working at these previous jobs included: • Making and serving snack and lunch (knowledge of food allergies/dietary restrictions) • Monitoring playtime by making sure playing was safe (no play fighting or real fighting, jumping from high elevated furniture, no eating or placing small objects in mouths, no name calling or making fun of others, no swearing, no running indoors except for the gym, etc.) • Taking the kids on field trips (parks, beaches, Read more zoo, Science Center, Seattle Center, etc.) • Teaching kids manners (table manners, using please and thank you, asking instead of telling when wanting something, and cleaning up after oneself, etc.) and regular basic knowledge such as counting, reading, writing, and facts about animals, etc. • Regularly checking if diapers needed to be changed or kids had to go to the bathroom • Making arts and crafts with the children, helping them with the art if asked • Changing diapers • Circle time which consisted of sing-along songs • Making sure every kid was at least quiet during nap time or rocked babies to sleep • Sanitizing furniture and washed dishes when not in use by kids My special skills and abilities include: • Self-starter • Can work without supervisor • Works well in groups and individually • Good communicator • Wide knowledge of nutrition • Cooking/meal prep • High energy • Creative/artistic • Understand and follow directions well • Valid WA State Driver’s License and clean driving record • Reliable If you'd like to see my full resume or are interesting in considering me as a summer nanny, please contact me at caitlinrcohen@gmail.com
