Hello parents! I encourage you to reach out to me after you are done reading my profile if you have any questions or would like to talk further. Let me start by telling you a little bit about my past work history; I started my career in childcare when I was 17 in an after-school care program working with school aged kids (K-5) and helping with homework and providing a safe environment. Three years later I left to nanny for a beautiful baby boy whom I was with for a year. I then went to a daycare where I met multiple families, daily and had many kids everyday from three months to twelve years. Of course I always steered towards the babies and the toddlers- who can resist cute snuggly smiley babes and adorable toddlers? Not me. I worked at multiple gym daycares caring for multiple kiddos and their families Read more and from there I met some of the most amazing families that I went on to sit for for years who have written me and given me glowing recommendations and references. I have also worked in a pre-school setting as a substitute teacher and an assistant teacher- so I have lots of pre-k curriculum planning experience as well as classroom management experience. I am currently in the process of obtaining my Bachelors degree in Psychology from the University of Northern Arizona's online program, therefore scheduling is never a problem. My minor is family studies which includes a mix of social work, child development, criminal justice and education. I graduate spring of 2017! Woo hoo! My philosophy when it comes to children is based on respect. Whether they are a month old or ten years old they are humans too- albeit tiny ones. My motto is to always be kind, but firm. I love to be active, play games, go outside, read books and be creative! I have a never ending book of activities and I can pretty much make fun out of nothing. Bonus? I have pretty much seen it all so nothing scares me. I can keep calm in any situation. I have CPR/First aid for infant/child and adult (re-certifying this June, too!). I am excellent at communication and both parents and kids love me for my reliability, punctuality and professionalism. Whether you're a first time parent or a fifth, leaving your kid with someone can be a struggle and finding someone you can trust is hard work.
