I have a 5 star rating on care.com. I enjoy working with people of all ages and abilities. I'm enthusiastic, playful and organized. I work part-time hours from home as a small business consultant. I love my community in Seattle and it's important to me to have friends of all ages, so when I'm not working as a consultant I work as a caregiver, and offer birthday party hosting services. I dress as a clown or fantasy character, perform or teach hula hoop, and offer face painting. I customize each party to the child's developmental stage and current challenges (if the child has recently navigated things such as grief/loss/etc). I earned a certificate from MIT in "Learning Creative Learning" which helps me understand how children process and learn through tinkering and play. I enjoy seeing those around me reach their highest potential and live a life true to who they want to be. I have experience with occupational, speech and behavioral therapy. Previously I've worked as a a lifeguard/swim instructor, as a camp counselor with specialty in integration for children with disability and/or special needs, and as a one on one caregiver for children with autism, aspergers, ADHD, cerebral palsy, food allergies and down syndrome diagnosis. I was also an assistant program director for a senior citizen day program. I've studied nonviolent communications and have CPR, First Aid and Blood Borne Pathogens certifications. I also have a clean driving record of 15 years and a certificate from the Canadian School of Natural Nutrition. I enjoy cooking healthy meals and staying organized so don't hesitate to ask for help with laundry! I enjoy spending time with all kinds of furry and feathered friends, too. My German Shepherd (see my profile picture) passed away last year and I would love to have some canine time!
