  I love being around kids. They teach me so much about life, and give me so much joy. I love the way they're little brains work. I love to contribute to making they're lives wonderful. Especially If I can positively influence they're self confidence, and teach them things about life. I have been babysitting since I was 10 yrs old. I even had my own fliers, advertising my babysitting business up at my childhood church bulletin board.   Currently I care for a 2 year old boy, and 4 yr old boy. I have been with them for 5 months now, and have enjoyed getting to know their unique little personalities. We stay on a consistent schedule with 2 snack times, 1 lunch time, and nap time each day. Our typical day might consist of reading, painting, puppet time, dancing, musical chairs, going for walks/wagon rides, exploring the woodland Read more park zoo, parks in the community, the community center's, or imaginative play. Their family has moved home's, and the school for the 4 yr old, so, unfortunately, our scheduling is not going to work out anymore.   I have cared for children from the age of 1 month up to age 12. I have the most fun with infants and kids up to the age of 5, but am comfortable with any age. I feel that adults should be the one's in charge. I do believe in timeout for thing's such as hitting/pushing, excessive back-talking, spitting, cursing, and not cooperating. When children are under my care, and the parents request TV time, I prefer there be a maximum of one to two hour limit for TV watching, video game and computer playing.    I have been working as a full time hairstylist for the last ten years of my life, and am currently considering a change of career which is exciting. I have no pets although I do love them, especially dog's. My ideal work environment would be clean, organized, safe for myself and the kids, stocked with fairly healthy snacks and meals for the kids, plenty of age appropriate games and toys, craft and art supplies (when age appropriate). I require open communication between myself and the parent's regarding naps, diets, behavioral issues, development issues and milestones, goals, hopes, and expectations. Outside of work I love to stay active and healthy by running, hiking, snowboarding, camping, swimming, traveling, and dancing. I come from a large family with whom I am close with and value my time with. Fortunately they mostly all live here.
