It was my pleasure to have Betsy as a babysitter for my two children from May '13 to Dec '13 at which time she worked 8 to 24 hours per week (hours varied based on my work schedule) Betsy began caring for my children aged 3.5 months and 3.5 years. Betsy proved herself as a reliable and trustworthy babysitter right away. She always came to our home on time, smiling and had a genuine investment in my children’s interests and well-being. It was wonderful to have such a kind and nurturing young person to help me care for my children. I was always blown away by the quality of the time my children had with Betsy. She is extremely active and hands on. As her profile states, she is creative and enjoys spending time doing crafts and music with the children in her care. Each night I’d get home from work to find art projects completed with Betsy or be told about the fun times spent in our garden or making smoothies together in the kitchen. Betsy was with our family in the time that my daughter was teething. On those days she managed to soothe a teething 6 month old all while keeping her rambunctious 4 year old brother thoroughly entertained. When the children were sick Betsy was very good about checking with me regarding dosages for medicine and keeping a written log of when she administered medication. When thinking about hiring a babysitter, we were a little worried about how our son would be disciplined. We didn’t want him to be without rules and consequences, but also didn’t want him to be treated harshly. Her disciplinary style was very in tune with our own and we appreciated how she problem solved and managed his behavior. She was able to redirect him in a gentle and loving way, when needed. I highly recommend Betsy for any future nanny or child care worker position.. A very energetic individual she was always able to keep my children entertained.
