Hello! My name is Whitney and I am a graduate from Lesley University in Elementary Education and received my certificate to teach K-8. For the past year I have been a substitute in the Shoreline School District. However, I am interested in finding a nanny position. I live in North Seattle but can commute to any Seattle area. I have my own vehicle and an excellent driving record. Although I have never been a full time nanny I have plenty of experience as a babysitter and teacher. Throughout high school I babysat for many grade school children. I was responsible for picking up children from school, helping with homework, planning some fun activity, taking them to practices/activities, preparing meals, taking care of pets, and always cleaned for the family. Since high school I volunteered as a tutor in the 2nd, 4th, and 7th grades. I also completed 3 months of Read more full time teaching for a 2nd grade class. During this time I was responsible for all planning, teaching, and communication with parents. Currently, I am a substitute teacher for mostly the elementary grades. Learning is a passion of mine and I love finding fun and interesting ways to teach children new things. I love working with children and couldn't imagine doing anything else with my life. I am comfortable being a nanny for toddlers on up. I also believe in the importance of living a healthy lifestyle and for children to get outdoors and exercise. Children need to be active, exploring and learning not be indoors in front of the television! To do my job well I would prepare fun activities that are still educational, as well as fun arts and crafts. Many of my ideas I have used in the classroom. I am also very active I enjoy playing soccer, tennis, backpacking, swimming, etc. Another thing I enjoy doing is cooking, although I may not be able to cook up a 5 star dinner I can cook a delightful and healthy dinner for the family. If you have pets I would be more than willing to care for them! I would also be willing to complete any errands or extra chores you may need done.
