I'm a teacher at heart- I love the "ah-ha" moments when a child (or myself) learns something new; the glimpse into a child's fresh perspective of the world; and unique ideas for projects, art, and/or adventures generated by children. Currently I teach children ages 3-5 with Head Start. It's a Reggio Emilia inspired program, meaning we encourage student centered learning through inquire and exploration. Language is an extremely important component of the philosophy, empowering children to use their words for both developing independence and the ability to learn socially. Before Head Start, I was teaching on a ship called Peace Boat, which circumnavigated the southern hemisphere. And prior to that, I taught two years at an elementary school in South Korea. I love travel and I love culture.
