I have babysat children of various ages, spent a lot of time in girl scouts in various leadership positions, and lived with my previous roommates 2 year old for a year. I have changed many diapers, dealt with rashes and sickness. I know camp songs, and games. I've also taught a young todder some simple baby sign. I was in girl scouts from when I was 5 till I was 18, so it's been a big portion of my life. Once I was old enough to start leading girls (even in simple activities), I jumped at the chance. I lead a whole week of activites at day camp at the age of 16 and that's when I learned how long it takes to get fifteen 10 year olds changed into swimsuits. Which gave me the essential life lesson to always leave more time that you think it will take. Now Read more actually living with a child, who was about 1.5 when i moved in and a bit over 2.5 when I moved out also taught me a lot. I got really good at putting him down for naps, getting him to sit down and eat his meals (at least when he was a bit older), helping him get into a regular sleeping schedule. While I was living with them, the wife was working all day, and the husband was getting a degree. So part of me living there was me watching their child while they were away. I was technically a live in nanny. I learned how to put a carseat in a car, put a child in a car seat, put a child in a stroller, and other small things you wouldn't think of without experience. Note: I wasn't paid during this year but my rent was reduced because of it, so I'll be counting it as a year of paid experience. I'm always will to read to a child (not just naps), I'd also be willing to help a kid out with homework, or have a set time to do homework. I'm currently a college student at SCC, and I will probably always have homework to do. If we agree to a long term schedule, I'll set up my classes around your schedule. I'm also a dog walker in my spare time, so I can even help with that!
