Hello! My name is Rae and I am a graduate student at Denver University where I am working towards my masters in International Studies. I completed my undergraduate degree in Wisconsin with three majors (Politics, Psychology, and Religion) and was very active on campus in leadership and philanthropic organizations (such as president of student senate, Greek Council Philanthropy chair, student representative on the alumni board, etc.) as well as club sports (lacrosse, equestrian). Throughout my undergraduate career I spent one summer as a live in nanny with three creative and delightful children ages 4, 6, and 8 and also one fall providing after school care for an active five year old. A typical day with my summer nanny family likely would have included an educational period where I helped my kids with summer workbooks, an outdoor activity (hike, bike, park visits, swimming, etc.), some sort of craft or science experiment, Read more and snack preparation. I often also assisted in transportation to and from sports activities, getting them ready for bed, and reading before bed. Before that (2009-2012) I was able to be an active member of 4-H, which provided a number of childcare experiences: I spent a few years as a camp counselor (mostly with girls around age 8), served as an ambassador for my county which required the planning and leading of activities for day camps, "discovery days," and after school programs (K-8), and when serving on the state leadership council I was able to serve as a role model and youth program director for middle school aged students. Outside of 4-H I have been active serving in my church through teaching both vacation bible school and Sunday School (both K-1) as well as serving in the church nursery every now and then (infant-3). Coming from northern Wisconsin, I immensely enjoy being outside and sports activities and thus am so excited to move out to Denver and further my education in such a beautiful, active area! My previous experiences as a babysitter were very rewarding and I would love to be able to find a new and exciting opportunity to serve as a positive and caring role model. As a compassionate, creative, outgoing, and organized person, you can be sure that your children will be both well cared for and have fun filled afternoons with me as their sitter.
