I've been working with kids from volunteering to babysitting to teaching dance and yoga since I was in high school. My love for kids continues to grow because of their natural energy and curiosity. I love watching them learn, helping them grow, and being a part of their support system. It's an incredible privilege to see the positive influence that I've had on children's lives especially because I'm just as thankful for the positive impact that they've had on me. I taught summer school classes to kids (ages 7-12) for three years in high school, while maintaining two babysitting jobs. For one family, I spent full weekdays watching two girls (ages 5 and 7). I took them back and forth between activities, made meals, organized activities, and helped with household chores. On occasional evenings, I babysat for a family with three children (two girls, aged 2 and 10, and one Read more boy, age 5). I made dinner, planned activities, and put them to bed. Last summer, I was a bunk counselor and dance teacher at Camp Kippewa for girls, where I lived in a bunk with 10 10-year-olds; I woke them up in the morning, brought them to their activities, planned evening activities, and put them to bed. I also taught five classes of dance to kids throughout the day (ages ranging from 7-15). This summer (June-August) I will be working at the same camp as the head counselor for girls ages 10-15, and I will be the head dance counselor.
