Hello, My name is Cindy and I am the middle of 7 children, with a twin who has ASD. I've had experience caring for my twin as well as 3 younger siblings who are 4, 6, and 7 years younger than I. I grew up in a small town in Wisconsin, and was thrilled to find opportunities to work as a childcare provider in Madison upon moving. At UW-Madison, I have experience as an intern at the Waisman Early Childhood Program. I cared for 3 to 4 children at a time, aged 1 to 8 years old. I had the opportunity to care for children with special needs, and enjoyed watching interactions between children of all abilities, especially as a future occupational therapy master's student. This internship involved feeding, changing diapers, and planning developmentally-appropriate activities for children. I am currently working at Eagle's Wing Childcare in Madison, WI as an Read more assistant teacher. Here, I work with children aged 3 months old to 8 years old. I spend most of my time in the infant room, where I am responsible for warming bottles and feeding infants, changing infant diapers, and interacting with them whenever they are awake. This job has been the highlight of my experience at UW-Madison, and I am thankful for the experience as a new aunt! I have appreciated the opportunity to continue to hone my childcare skills while in Madison, as I will be moving to Milwaukee on June 1st. I am interested in finding a summer-long job caring for and exploring with children before beginning the OT program at UW-Milwaukee in September!
