Hello, I have been taking care of others' children since I was 12 years old. Since that time, I have taught college level art and been a Montessori elementary teacher. I have taught in classes for grades one to three and then classes for grades fourth through sixth. I also have an 8-year-old daughter. I believe in encouraging children to stay active, mentally and physically, and prefer to work for families who limit computers/screens/video games. I enjoy reading and going to the library. Some other possibilities for activities with your children could be arts and crafts, card games, board games, playing outdoors, cooking, and I certainly don't mind getting dirty. Supporting a clean and tidy indoors helps the family and I understand that. In my classrooms and in my family, I try to guide the children to work to contribute to the community by sharing in the work. In other Read more words, I prefer to work with the child's character development in mind and sometimes cleaning together doesn't always mean that the room is 100% clean, but that we had fun together and the children gained skills and experience they can use after I am gone.
