My usual arrangment is I pay someone monthly who's flexible enough to cover various scenarios - typically a generous fixed monthly amount where I pay for flexibility and peace of mind. The money you earn will always exceed the amount of work you do - some weeks you won't have to do anything. Sometimes just take my dog out for a short relief walk. Sometimes spend some time here with her. A sweet 11 yr old who doesn't really need much care other than during meals where she needs encouragement. Our cat is super cool and the only thing he needs is a little liquid med put in his morning meal. So a typical week might be come over in the afternoon maybe twice in a week just to take our dog out. A typical week might also entail not coming over at all. And on some days, I might need you to come over and hang for a couple hours. Just looking for responsible dog care by someone who has some flexibility.
