We visited Kauai for 2 weeks from Portland Or with our 3 kids (9, 4, and 21 months). We were in love with Mel from the moment she walked in the room. She immediately put all the kids at ease and was down on their level within seconds. We were originally going to have a sitter for just our 21 month old son as our 4 year old daughter has some behavioral struggles and we felt it would be too much for a stranger to have both kids together. By the time we were ready to leave, Mel had our 4 year old wrapped around her finger. As a special education teacher, foster parent and parent of kids with special needs I couldn’t have been more impressed by Mel’s immediate structure and skill with diffusing potential problems before they were even solidified in our little gal’s head. She was respectful, calm, fun and extremely loving. The kiddo’s loved her. Mel kept us updated throughout the day on naps, meals, crafts, special time, posted pictures…etc. At one time our little guy bumped his head and Mel sent an immediate picture of him and the time it happened….so professional! We used Mel on 4 separate occasions for most of the day. On the last day she watched all 3 kids (our 9 year old wanted in on the nanny time also) so the adults could go out for dinner. We miss our Auntie Mel!
