I have a history in nannying, but my true passion is the health and well being of animals. My boyfriend, Parker, and I adopted a 1 1/2 year old Boxer/Border Collie Mix named Riley from the Arizona Humane Society and he is the light of our lives! He loves tennis balls, going to the park, playing with other dogs, and going on W's (he knows the work for walk so we can't say it around him). Growing up, the first thing on the top of my wish list was always a furry companion. Unfortunately, My mom and brother are both extremely allergic to almost anything with fur, so I decided to volunteer my time to help animals instead. My neighbors always had dogs so I would pet it for them when they went out of town. I used to volunteer for a Beagle rescue at PetSmart Adoption Days. My responsibility was to walk the dogs around the store and tell people about their personalities and our cause. I also spent time volunteering at a rabbit rescue shelter making sure they had adequate food, water and toys in their pens. The most rewarding part about volunteering with these organizations was seeing pets go home with a new loving family. A lot of animals in rescue shelters, including Riley, did not get the best start in life. All of these experiences have inspired me to pursue a career in Registered Veterinary Technology at Mt. San Antonio College in California. In order to get there, I need to find a summer job so that I can earn enough money to follow my childhood dream.
