Throughout my life, I have always been surrounded by animals. Growing up, I knew the love of my mom's many cats and my aunts' many dogs. Love of animals is a family trait. One aunt of mine is somewhat of a dog trainer (mainly for service/therapy dogs) and the other is a veterinary surgeon.

I've had an assortment of pets growing up including (many, many) cats, dogs, red eared slider turtles, and a guinea pig (just not all at once!). My older brothers always had something exotic, too, from various reptiles (including iguanas and snakes) to ferrets, rats, and even sugar gliders! Now I’ve made best buds with my boyfriend’s parrot and I have three gorgeous felines of my own (four if you count the kitten my boyfriend and I have, one of my former fosters).

Before I moved (Casa Grande to Tucson), I regularly volunteered at and fostered neonatal kittens (bottle babies!) for the local humane society. As soon as my situation allows it, I’ll be right back to fostering.

I was also, before I moved too far away to reasonably accommodate travel, enrolled in a technical school’s veterinary assistance program. I completed 3/4 of my first year in which I learned about animal behavior, basic grooming, and introduction to medical terms. I do plan on continuing my education and earning my Bachelor’s Degree in veterinary medicine.
