It is with great enthusiasm that I submit this application for the dog handler position.
My unconditional love for animals is something that I have been exploring throughout my life. Growing up in a household of six dogs and a mother who is the vice president on the board of directors for the Humane Society of Imperial County has allowed me to gain insight into the care and well being of animals. This passion led me to work as a volunteer at The Humane Society of Imperial County for six years. During my time at this facility, I was extremely successful in all duties performed. Amongst these duties included: assisting with animal intake, evaluation, and treatment. Moreover, I had the opportunity to document animal records and make sure cleanliness protocols were met.
From this position I have come to comprehend that animals require special attention, and this can only be provided if the caretaker has sufficient knowledge of the animal. I am active member of the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) and read their weekly blogs to keep up with new information regarding animal cruelty. In addition, I have also been involved in a number of adoption and charity events in the Imperial Valley. My life experience and true passion for animals have led me to dedicate my life to provide these creatures with the safe and loving environment they deserve to live in. I have also worked as a veterinary assistant at Caring Pet Hospital in Hayward CA. With that work experience I have gained so much knowledge about the medical side to treating dogs and cats.
I am confident that my communication skills, perseverance, passion, dedication, and most importantly love for animals will allow me to be a successful sitter for your pet.
