I've recently moved to Santa Cruz, CA, having completed my MFA program in Boulder, CO and am currently looking for some pet care work in the area. I've had lifelong experience taking care of animals and LOVE being around them.

I've owned many animals in my life: I've had rodents, cats, dogs; taken in strays of the wilder sort. In addition to this I've worked many pet care jobs over the years, mostly for dogs and some cats. My most recent pet-sitting job was with a family in CO who owned a beloved pug, who I walked, fed, housed, and did overnights with (sometimes for a month at a time). Before that, I spent four years working for a woman who had a beloved German shepherd, who I'd sometimes stay with for a month at a time, due to his separation anxiety -- he was a lot to handle, but he happened to like me, so whenever she had a business trip, I was the one to call!

I've had experience owning and living with animals since I was a child--in terms of my recent experience with dogs, I cohabited a space with my roommate and her adorable Chihuahua for a year last year, and had provided care (including overnights) before we lived together as well. And after the flood hit CO in 2013, I had to evacuate my apartment and move in with my cousins who had a Border collie. I fell in love with that dog and ended up walking her every day, feeding her, taking her on hikes. If I could afford it, I would rescue a dog for my very own in a heartbeat!

Basically, I love animals. I love animals so much that I've even been vegetarian for 10 years. I've had 38 total pets in my life (I counted!) I have dreams of having my own farm some day, just so I can be surrounded by animals. Your pets are in good hands!
