Animals, I believe, are our profound extensions of love in the world. They "humanize" families and relationships. They provide healing and comfort to many in hospitals and nursing homes. As a parent to two rescue animals, having been a pet-sitter for cats, kittens, dogs and even macaws,I respect the connection and bond that so many of us have with our animals.
