I aspire to become Veterinarian. I am currently enrolled in CCBC. By next Fall I will hopefully be accepted into the Vet Technician program. When I finish this program my goal is to train under a Veterinarian as my main job while pursuing side careers until I return to school to become a full Veterinarian.
My experience comes from working with the Washington Animal Rescue League. With the coordination of the internship Urban Alliance, I worked 9 months alongside my mentor Lauren Ghent. My mentor’s title is Shelter Medicine Coordinator. I was able to learn the functions necessary to maintaining a shelter environment as well as a veterinary hospital. I aided with daily routine medical care, sterilization of the facility, disease management and mitigation as well as quarantine procedures and practices. My open minded attitude allowed me to excel in a fast paced fluxing environment also my outgoing personality made it easy for me to connect with staff, potential adopters and the low-income clients.
I also have experience working in Dog Kennel settings. I worked with Rocky Gorge Animal Hospital and have experience with caring for over night guest and also facilitating doggy day care. I have experience in animal behavior which includes making the animals comfortable in many situations.
