Hi , I am Diane miles, certified master dog trainer/behaviorist. That's my title. But long before I had that title I was (and will always be) an animal lover.
I graduated from "National K-9 School for Dog Trainers" in 2001 and have been training dogs and caring for pets ever since. Now I will explain the FIRST . I believe a tired dog is a good dog. So the first thing i do to keep your dog and you happy is exercise. Physical and just as important, Mental. While we walk, I throw in some obedience commands. It gives me an opportunity to praise your dog. It builds up his self confidence. It makes the walk more interesting and it is FUN. Equally important. Any training, exercise, or behavioral modification has to be fun for you and your dog. FUN helps us be more consistent . It promotes bonding and that, in turn, enhances dog/people relationship. Now to the FREE. Behavior modification, basic obedience and leash manners. If you hire me as your dog walker or sitter, I will work on any un desirable behaviors that concern you. Show you proper leash handling so that when you walk your dog there is no pulling. Your walks will be enjoyable and anyone you meet along the way will be impressed with your dogs good manners.
While my love of dogs is apparent, my love of cats is just as strong. Although, my success at training cats has been rather dismal. I am a firm believer in cats and behavior modification. Yes, they certainly know how to modify their humans behavior. But that's cause they are cats. And that is their charm. I've had finches,mice, rats and hamsters and I loved them all.
In closing this bio. I have one more thing to share. In my 62 years on this earth, I have experienced many things that have shaped who I am today. Sad things. Lost loved ones. Cancer. Divorce. But much more than the sad, is the good things. Wonderful family. Beautiful place to live. Nine years sobriety . Through all of those things there has been one constant, besides my God. And that is my pets. They listen without comment. Look without judgement. Protect without question. And love without reservation. And we must always remember that they are a life that deserves respect and a gift to be treasured. Diane
