I grew up in a family that owned and loved pets! We always had a houseful, usually strays or unwanteds; cats, dogs, hamsters, birds, ferrets, etc. Over the years as an adult, I have also owned and cared for horses, goats, reptiles and birds. Currently, my home consists of 1 dog, 8 cats, 6 tortoises and 1 bearded dragon. I have devoted my life to animals through my employment and my volunteer work with different organizations. Years ago I owned and operated my own pet sitting service but eventually gave up my accounts to a friend when I took a full time job as the manager of an animal hospital.
