I have over 20 years of experience caring for cats and dogs (and other small pets as well!) I am a HUGE fan of animals of all types, especially dogs. I grew up in a household full of cats, lots of cats! My mom was definately a cat person and never gave into my pleas to get a dog. For many years I had a busy career as a teacher and then a caregiver, so I never had the time necessary to be a full time pet owner. However, I've had lots of friends and roommates with dogs and I was always the first one to volunteer to pet sit, walk, and hike with them. I once went on a two-week hiking trip with a dog who carried his own water and food and never complained once! Although I had planned on returning to my teaching career, COVID put a damper on that. I started to rethink my options, and at this stage in my life (I am almost 50), I am eager to try something new. I started thinking about all of the "Dog Whisperer" and Eukanuba shows I've obsessively watched over the years and decided it's time for me to get into the field! So, I recently applied to a dog training course. If accepted, I am hoping that I can fit some pet sitting and walking into my schedule as well. I am also open to opportunities for babysitting and caregiving. I have a lot of experience working with children of all ages, especially children with special needs. I have also worked withs adults with disabilities and illness as well. I hope to hear from you soon and look forward to caring for your loved one(s)!
