I am a huge dog lover!!! I was fortunate enough to grow up with dogs and by the time I graduated from college I found myself to be the proud (dog) mother of five dogs who I had adopted from the Cobb County Animal Shelter. I would feel privileged to take care of your dog while you are at work or on vacation and promise to love them as my own.

Canine Assistants - College Internship (2001)
*Canine Assistants is a nonprofit organization that trains and provides service dogs to those in need*
Primarily worked in the "Puppy Barn". Responsibilities included interacting, walking, playing, feeding and bathing dogs. In order to expose the dogs, even at a very young age, we routinely made trips to local stores and local elementary schools to ensure exposure to various people and situations. Participated in and was privileged to spend time with the recipients and their dog during the two week recipient's camp. Routinely assisted with horse therapy (part of Canine Assistants' Animal Assisted Therapy) sessions where I side-walked with many physically disabled children and adults during a thirty minute to one hour therapy session. Also helped care for the horses.

Volunteered for the "dinner" shift. Dogs were let out in large back yard (and played with), crates were cleaned, clean blankets were placed in crates. When dogs were ready to come in, they ate dinner and we're given medication(s) if needed. Once all the dogs were attended to and blankets were being washed, I tried to spend extra time with each dog in their crates before leaving.
